Paul Greene, Ph.D.
From many years of clinical practice, training and continuing education, I have learned to create conversations that have the potential to improve lives. We all know how difficult life can be, and how important it is to be able to speak to a thoughtful, knowledgeable person, in a safe place that is private and confidential, and where kindness and compassion are valued along with expertise.
Conversations about how we think can lead to different ways of perceiving and a conscious understanding, the essence of cognitive therapy. Meaningful conversations can also suggest new ways to behave so that new, more functional actions can be learned which is is essence of behavior therapy. How we understand our lives, the influential people and profound, sometimes traumatic experiences that have shaped us, and how all of that influences everything we do, are the psychodynamics of our inner lives. Understanding ourselves, our thinking, feelings and actions, given our unique individual history and context can give us choices about changing, living differently and better. Together, our conversations within the privacy of individual psychotherapy or marriage counseling is an opportunity to find solutions. Let’ talk.
